Just when you thought you know what were were all talking about

Andrew Jones AKA Tall Skinny Kiwi, posted about "the demise of the term" emgerging or its other variations.  Just when you thought you knew what the emergent church was, here we go again.  Hey no one (except me) is saying "Da Bomb" anymore. ("That is so '94!")  Ideas and terms come and go.  Its just like what happend to Aternative Rock.  It was a movement that pushed Rock music forward.  It's the same thing.  The experimentors of church and culture are bored by the term now that it's a mainstream word.  Maybe in 100 years my great grand kid will say "Ya, may Great Grandpa was part of 'The Great Emergence.'"  Who knows.  Next!  Check out Andrew's post.

interesting take on experimental ministry

Johnny Baker pointed to a wiki site of a cool way to look at/try new types of ministry. Check out Church on the Edge's about page. Apparently they are working in "rural" Britain. That would be a new mode of things that are emerging/21st century. All the stuff that I've seen about new types of ministry are urban. Have any of you seen anything other than urban? Take a ganger, its very interesting!

Have you heard of

Have you heard of Biblical Seminary? I just went to their page by way of Scot McKight's post Teaching Freedom in Seminary. (a good post. read if you don't subscribe to jesuscreed.org) I explored a little bit. There is a heading on their home page called The Missional Church, and a couple links under that heading that you should check out. It's encouraging stuff to see a seminary tackle issues and shift like that. There is hope my friends.
