1441

No that's not the year I'm going to reference.  Rather it's the amount of days that this blog has been in existance.  1441 days today.

Not sure if there's many of us still around that were in on that first con
vo in David Carney's living room in Lansing 4 years ago.  Here's the first post.

So I wonder how we've all migrated.  We aren'
t the same people that we were in 2005.

How have you migrated your life,
                                                                your ministry,

                                                              to the changing world?

For those of us in that living room, those that have joined this and other conversations like it, I know we have asked ourselves questions these type of questions.  Some of us have found answers.  Some of those answers are unpopular at best.  I hope you are all still in persuit of how we can speak/live/embody The Gospel of Jesus to emerging generations.

May God show you how to migrate today, tomorrow and in the days to come.  May He give you a missionaries heart.  May you continue to move.  Peace.

I migrated from serving at our national church offices to serving at a Wesleyan College about two months ago. The move provided more stability and better benefits for me and my family.

I migrated by moving to Western Canada. I am just in the middle of the move and will be figuring out how being missional plays out in the great white north.

wow Kevin. I just met you in February too. well done thinking of the family!

You will be missed Ken!

Thanks for your comment on the original post [http://chogmigration.blogspot.com/2005/03/back-up-just-bit.html] The only regret that I've had over the last few years is not keeping a state level conversation. I was hoping this venue would help that continue, but it hasn't. We are seeing more churches talking about being more missional, which is great! But they don't realize that for some, our subcultural language and that fact that we meet in a church building is enough for people to drive by, or even worse have an overt angst toward us. I don't find any fault in you Ken, if people think this is a fad or the hip thing to talk about and are thinking they're moving on to the next trend they'll be sadly mistaken. People think they've talked it all through. I think we've only broached the subject. Thanks for broaching with us. Take care in Canada, eh?
